POLK COUNTY COURTHOUSE SECURITY The Polk County Courthouse has been designated as a SECURE AREA. All persons must pass through a metal detector to enter the courthouse. After going through the metal detector, you may be subject to a limited search. ALL packages, briefcases, pocketbooks or other items carried by a person must be inspected. All weapons, including legally authorized firearms must be surrendered prior to gaining entry and all LEGAL weapons may be reclaimed upon leaving. ILLEGAL WEAPONS or other CONTRABAND discovered during the search procedures will be seized and prosecution may result. ITEMS NOT ALLOWED IN THE COURTHOUSE Guns, explosives, knives, scissors, nail clippers, pocket knives, chemical sprays(includes perfume and hair spray), wallet chains, tweezers, and other objects may be disallowed at the discretion of the security personnel. DRESS NEATLY AND CONSERVATIVELY FOR COURT You must dress neatly and conservatively for court. Also do not chew gum on the witness stand. PARKING AND ARRIVING ON TIME The parking around the courthouse is limited and it may take you some time to find a parking place. Please allow yourself an extra 30 to 45 minutes to be sure you can park, go through security and be on time for your court appearance. Map and Directions to the Polk County Courthouse |
